  • SFP COTS tests:
    • Manoel will be present the results at TWEPP
    • The full report to be shared before with everyone here: action @Manoel Barros Marin
  • MUXes:
    • Radiation tests to be performed this year
      • Jan confirmed it is foreseen by the end of September
    • System tests to be performed with final components next year (2024): CWDM is not really a standard and we need to test the chain to exclude issues
      • it is reassuring that we have at least a set of 2 vendors that seem compatible with our specs and potentially doses
      • We need 2 types of setup
        • "optics" (demo system with custom components): ESE, to make sure Muxes are compatible with the components
        • "functional test": BPM and BLM could build the chains (to test with the SFPs)
      • Francois suggested that some tests could be performed already with the candidates if we have
        • Christos mentioned they have a full set up for the test with the final components
        • Andrea mentioned that for the BPM the final set up doesn’t exist yet, but there are boards for the qualification of components that can be reused for this:
          • The SFP loopback test board for the compatibility of the optical part
          • The ADC test board for a 2nd stage full system compatibility test
        • Manoel mentioned that one of the ADC was interfaced with a VTRx, but a multi mode one: the results were good, even tho they could not control/program the emphasis filters
          • This proves that the electrical interface is ok
          • Need of some VTTx to actually test the MUX tho
        • Few candidates have been identified by Manoel for the reception part, but mostly SFP
          • Jan suggested there should be ‘receiver only components’, but Manoel said those seem exotic and therefore more expensive than standard one by more than a factor 2 (better to have and not use the transmitter)
          • Andrea said we could order a few samples of the current candidates already for the MUX tests: action @Manoel Barros Marin
        • 2024 preparation of market survey and IT
          • Jan wants to discuss the preparation of this with Josh but in a separate meeting. Josh accepted: action @Jan Troska to organise this meeting
          • The actual purchase should happen in 2025
            • Thibaut: Spending profiles can be reshuffled as long as we foresee it in advance and not in the same calendar year
            • the budget for the BPM needs reprofiling: action @Andrea Boccardi
            • The BLM profile already have the muxes in 2025
  • TOSA IT already out: deadline set to the 29th of September
  • ROSA:
    • First technical discussion with Lauri and the new ALBIS people yesterday to remind them the outgassing issue
    • Subcontractor (EZConn) to come back with a new way of building the ROSAs in a few weeks.
    • Jan asked for metallic assembly and waiting a reply for the company
  • The GBLD yield seems to be the same of the previous production, with some indication that the quality of the chips (jitter) could even be better for this batch
    • The yield seems the same also between 5 and 10 Gbps using pre-emphasis
    • Full series from in house modules (1300) will be done in a couple of weeks: this will give us a better projection of the yield to expect for the 5 and 10 Gbps operation modes
    • The test bench required some changes. Both BLM and BPM allocated 30k  (in total 60k)  for this in the budget between 2023 (20k) and 2024 (40k)
      • The rential cost for the instrument was charged on the BPM code
      • The purchase of the missing elements will be charged on the BLM code (64726)
  • Sophie asked a flow chart for the next steps in the project: action @Antonio Cristiano
