Description
Somewhat surprisingly, the gradient flow in non-abelian gauge theories (including QCD) does not require renormalization. The flow equation thus generates a one-parameter family of smooth gauge fields, whose correlation functions are automatically finite. At the non-perturbative level, the construction provides interesting new ways to probe the theory from short to long distances.
