Description
The low-energy properties of the spectral density of the QCD Dirac operator are related to the spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry via the so-called Banks-Casher relation. For lattice discretizations which do not preserve exact chiral symmetry, such as the Wilson discretization, it is important to investigate how lattice artifacts distort the expected continuum behaviour of the low-energy spectrum. A tool which can be adopted to study this problem is the Wilson Chiral Perturbation Theory, where discretization effects are included in the low-energy effective Lagrangian. I will briefly introduce this framework and present some analytic results which could be useful in interpreting lattice data.
