The name of our school is "1st High School of Kalymnos". Kalymnos is a small, rural island located in the southeast Aegean Sea. The students participating in this virtual visit come from our high school's second and third grades. They are not familiar with the technology or the terminology of the CMS. However, participating in this event will inspire them, since they will see cutting-edge physics applications and have the opportunity to ask questions to highly qualified scientists. It would also be interesting for the students to know the professional backgrounds of the scientists that work at the CMS and CERN.
The students of the 3rd grade of our school are looking forward to experience the great opportunity to participate in the scheduled virtual visit in the magnificent world of CERN. It would be a unique moment for them to dive into the ocean of particles and get inspired by watching and interacting with the scientists working in this very important project. Even though they know little about modern physics, they will certainly be inspired!
