1) Pending problems

1) DDDigi TBB code needs migration to new oneAPI TBB interfaces (Issue 901):
      Clash between Intel oneapi TBB and classic TBB.
      -- Wouter promised to look into.
2) Issue 918: Should be addressed by PR920. Waiting for feedback.
                        HepMC3 reader with Pythia8 Argantyr generator: status checker not implemented
                       ==> addressed by PR 935 ?
3) Issue 921: EDM4hep output MCParticleCollection should be named MCParticle
                       ==> Thomas promised to investigate a solution.
4) Issue 940: Integration of external library (CRY) for cosmic ray generation in DDG4 simulation: on hold
5) Issue 970: Support for digitization in ddsim: on hold
6) Issue 984: DD4hep output with MarlinDD4hep
7) Issue 985: dummy material exported into gdml is not recognized by Geant4
8) Issue 988: Propagate cross section to the simulation
                        ===> likely a EDM4hep problem
9) Issue 993: Stacking Action in DD4hep to kill particles
10) Issue 994: Geometry checksum/hash for consistency checks between simulation and reconstruction steps

 

2)    Closed issues and fixed problems

1) Issue 978: inputting runtime constants to hits: on hold
                        Is this still a DD4hep issue or more a framework issue? 
                        Last question requires specialized hits, specialized G4 SD and a framework. (provided by A.Sailer)
2) Issue 977: problem with geant4 visualization: on hold. (provided by A.Sailer)
3) PR 986:     fix: 4-argument TGeoTrap needs an atan
4) PR 997:     Export DD4HEP_RELAX_PYVER to generated cmake config (provided by P.Gessinger)
5) PR 996:     Ddsim: fix for integer log level (provided by A.Sailer)
6) PR 987:     DDEve: root header was renamed  (provided by A.Sailer)

 

3) Round table

  Markus:     Working on DDDigi.
  Andre:       Helper users to compile DD4hep themselves.
  Frank:        NTR
  Juraj:          NTR
  Sunanda:  NTR
  Thomas:    Question: podio and EDM4hep.
                     There changes coming up in podio which are not backwards incompatible.
                     This will affect users.

 

4) AOB
----
For LCG stacks: LHCb asked to change default units to G4units.

If someone has a good idea how to inform users about such changes....please speak up.
Connected to: Issue 994: Geometry checksum/hash for consistency checks between simulation and reconstruction steps.
If we can show that the checksum with both unit systems is equal, this would ease the conversion.
