Key notes:

  • T4-XTAX as-built document released. Other XTAX doc ongoing. Drawings of XTAX (2/4/6) to be done in early 2023. 
  • XTAX limitations: SS operation in dump mode not possible with current XTAX for HIKE & SHiP cycles above 1.5E13 ppp (even below this value). Few pulses cases under investigation with more detailed plasticity model.
  • NA62 will request dump mode operation of 1.2E13 ppp early next year. Reply: Likely to have damage in the bulk material, although device "operationability" may not be compromised looking at experience with T6 XTAX. 
  • Transmission along T4 XTAX system lower than ultimate values. To be discussed further.  

New actions:

  • ACTION STI → New updates on the limits for new operational regimes. Particularly structural calculations & case with pre-dilution using the T4 target.
  • ACTION EA/STI → Discuss in early January the status of the functional requirements document.   →  Milestone: have the doc ready by mid January
  • ACTION EA/STI → Organize meeting and discuss with Sylvain G. possible inspections on T6 XTAX during the YETS22/23. Ideally inspection of the dumped surface of the 1st Cu block. 
  • ACTION EA/STI → (Yannis) Clarify design of the inserts in T6 
  • ACTION STI → (Luigi/Giuseppe) Discuss transmission results with Gianluigi Arduini.

Old actions:

  • ACTION EA → Finish and release as-built for TCC8 XTAX
  • ACTION EA → (less prio) Have new drawings with assembly and inserts (early 2023)
  • ACTION STI → inform cooling strategies by the end of November early January
