Description

A precise measurement of the integrated luminosity is a key component of the ATLAS physics programme at the CERN LHC. This seminar presents the final luminosity measurement for the Run-2 ATLAS pp dataset at sqrt(s)=13 TeV. The measurement is based on an absolute calibration of the dedicated LUCID detector using van der Meer beam separation scans recorded during special LHC fills in each year, and extrapolated to the physics data samples using complementary measurements from the ATLAS inner detector and calorimeters. The integrated luminosity of the full Run-2 dataset is measured to be L=140.1+-1.2 fb^-1, corresponding to an unprecedented precision of 0.83%.

Refreshments will be served at 10:30.
