SWELL cavity - planning -2023.1
Participants:
F. Sanda, M. Timmins, L. Marques Antunes Ferreira, S. Leith, M. Therasse, F. Peauger, W. Vollenberg, G. Bellini
Guillaume proposed to have this meeting in view of reviewing on a regular basis the planning concerning the production of 4 coated Cu SWELL quadrants at 1.3GHz.
He recalled that almost all the required toolings have been manufactured at the exception of:
- transport boxes
- Vented screws for the coating tooling
After the meeting Marc notified the participants that the transport boxes purchase will be launched for a total cost of 13kCHF and shall be delievred by end february.
Mathieu said that he will need the 4 quadrants for a blank assembly test in SM18. He asked when those quadrants would be needed for surface treatment and coating.
Guillaume said that according to the current status of the various parts we need at least 2 weeks for cleaning the whole toolings and thus SY-RF can have the quadrants for practice up to February.
Franck mentioned the interest of external institutes in having samples coated in a similar fashion as the quadrants to perform experimental analysis of SEY in order to back up the multipacting studies. Guillaume said that it might be easier to have a dedicated coating run on samples to reproduce the layer structure and mentioned the possibility of using a holder that could mimic the quadrant and hence having similar thin film structure on samples.
We agreed to start having weekly meetings and maybe diluting later on the latter depending on the activity progress and intensity with respect to other high priority projects.
Wil mentionned the need of producing new Nb targets (150mm x4mm). Guillaume will launch the job at the main workshop.
