09:00 → 09:50 VTRx+ Quality Assurance Programme

The VTRx+ is a radiation-hard optical link transceiver module which is part of the Versatile Link Plus project. These modules will be installed in the ATLAS and CMS detectors during the upgrades for the HL-LHC to cope with increases data volume and high trigger rates. Various tests are carried out on the VTRx+ modules as part of the Quality Assurance programme to ensure the modules meet the CERN specifications. This seminar will provide an outline of the tests and analysis performed on the pre-production VTRx+ batches.
After receiving results from previous tests, where some devices are performing poorly or failing the functional test, the alignment of the photodiode and VCSEL array with the lens array of the VTRx+ modules are being investigated. The coupling of the VCSEL and the photodiode with the lens array has been tested and the results are presented in this presentation.
