Reaching CERN

Access to CERN

You will find all practical information to access the CERN site by plane, car and public transports on https://visit.cern/preparing-your-visit.

How to get to CERN

There are several options for traveling to CERN. We highly recommend traveling to CERN by public transportation, as this is the easiest mode of transportation.

If traveling from the airport, you can use public transport and take the 23/28/57 bus from Geneva Airport, and change at the stop Blandonnet. There, you get on the 18 tram to the final stop, Meyrin, CERN.

If traveling from Geneva, you can take the 18 tram directly from Gare Cornavin until you reach the last stop, Meyrin, CERN.

We strongly recommend you to use public transport to get to CERN. If you are travelling by car, note that there are only few parking slots available behind the Globe. There is a construction going on, so you will need to drive through it, and be lucky to find an available spot, as parking is very limited.

If you are bringing a car, please email alexia.marie.yiannouli@cern.ch to provide her with details, including license plate number, as you will be required to have a CERN visitor badge to park on-site. Please note: if this is the case, you will need to obtain your CERN visitor pass before being able to access the CERN site to park. You will need to go to building 33 to collect your visitor pass, and then you will have access to park onsite. If this applies to you, contact alexia.marie.yiannouli@cern.ch for more information.
