The beauty of the Higgs: measuring the most popular Higgs boson decay at the LHC 55m

In the Standard Model, the Higgs boson has the highest probability to decay to b-quarks (H->bb), yet this is one of the most challenging channels to study at the LHC. As such, it took six additional years after the initial Higgs discovery to be observed for the first time. I will explain the importance of measuring the coupling of the Higgs to b-quarks and review the experimental techniques that lead to the most precise determination of the H->bb decay to date. Furthermore, I will discuss how these analyses can be used to provide unique insights into possible anomalous interactions of the Higgs boson, in particular by unlocking a higher energy regime. Finally, I will highlight the role of the H->bb decay in future investigations of key processes like the measurements of the Higgs self-coupling.
