Marco:
- Introduction of a bi-weekly meeting (timeslot tbd, every other Monday from 15:30 to 16:30 should be a strong candidate)
- Figure out :
- loading plate
- collared coil assembly gaps
- do we want to use the E-Modulus press to define the excess?
- What to place in between the two layers? Kapton? fiberglass?
- Discuss with Oussama concerning the optimization of the collars (location and size of the L cut)
- Introduce in the design a way to include “anti-rotation” pins of the collared coils into the yoke (or any feasible solution)
Oussama:
- Start with the cross section drawings (priority to collars)
- Check if the cradle of 11T can be adapted to Dahlia11, (overlap it with the collar geometry and see where there is the wiggle room to adapt the collars to the cradle)
- Check as well with the UTM if everything fits properly
- Concerning the instrumented collars discuss with Marco based on the stress state in the collars
Michael and Oscar:
- Think about instrumented collars options (where could be optimal to place strain gauges and stuff…)
- Propose the rest of the instrumentation for the short mockup
Preliminary plan for short mockup:
- 150/130mm mockup collaring test at room temperature and at cold to understand the system mechanics before going into the 1m long model.
- 4 step testing proposal
- Al full block (inner and outer layer merged)
- Al separated layers
- Impregnated coil (inner and outer layer merged)
- Two separated layers of impregnated coils
- With respect to the 11T mockup testing campaign, by having the integrated pole each test run will be faster. The test matrix will be “skinnier” as well
- DIC “zoom” measurement in the high stress locations that are identified by the FEA to validate or not the local peak stresses
