International ATLAS masterclass 2023

Asia/Dubai
University of Sharjah

University of Sharjah

Description

Join us on an exciting journey to uncover the fundamental building blocks of the universe! Discover what’s happening 100 meters underground at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). At the Large Hadron Collider, a 27-kilometer circular accelerator, the ATLAS detector is installed, designed to unlock the full discovery potential of the LHC and expand the boundaries of scientific understanding.

A masterclass includes a series of lectures and discussions on particle physics, followed by a hands-on session where students analyze real LHC data and perform measurements just like particle physicists. At the end of each day, participants come together in a video conference—just like an international research collaboration—to discuss and combine their results.
