Fluid dynamics is believed to arise from quantum field theory or many-body quantum mechanics for many particles and strong interactions. I will discuss here the onset of this behavior when the number of particles is small and when the interaction strength parametrized by an s-wave scattering length can be continuously varied. Theoretically the problem can be solved in limiting cases which I will discuss. Experimentally one can address also the intermediate regimes with the perspective to gain a substantially more detailed view on the relation between quantum dynamics and fluid dynamics.
