Le docteur Revol, spécialiste du sujet de renommée internationale, nous expliquera les particularités du Haut Potentiel de l'enfant au niveau cognitif, avec notamment les nouveaux enrichissements des neurosciences.
En effet, ces enfants ont un profil particulier qui peut paradoxalement compliquer les apprentissages scolaires ainsi que leur fonctionnement affectif spécifique. Cela peut rendre complexe leurs rapports en famille, à l'école et avec leurs amis.
De l’enfant, il glissera vers les particularités des adolescent.e.s avant d’évoquer le Haut Potentiel chez l’adulte.
Olivier Revol est pédopsychiatre, chef de service de psychopathologie de l'enfant et de l'adolescent au CHU de Lyon, dirigeant du centre de référence des troubles d'apprentissage et auteur de plusieurs ouvrages parmi lesquels :

Giftedness, from child to adult by Dr Olivier REVOL

Olivier Revol, one of the foremost specialists in the field of giftedness, will run through the range of cognitive features that characterise gifted youth, with special reference to recent findings in neuroscience.
Paradoxically, such children can have difficulty adapting to the school setting and will often express their emotions in atypical ways. This frequently leads to complications in their relations with family members, teachers and friends.
Dr Revol will further examine patterns of behaviour in gifted teenagers, noting variation in the behaviour of girls and boys. Lastly, he will address the frequently overlooked question of what becomes of gifted youth once they become adults.
Olivier Revol is a child psychiatrist, head of the department of child and teenage psychopathology at the university hospital in Lyons, where he also leads the learning disabilities centre. For a selection of his writings on giftedness see the French titles listed above.
