Description

On the occasion of the release of SATLAS 2, we would like to invite you to a presentation on the SATLAS software by Bram van den Borne, KU Leuven on 12th May 2023, 14.00 at CERN.

Place: CERN, Room 1/1-025

Time: 14.00-16.00

On-line participation is also possible via Zoom. https://cern.zoom.us/j/63956147126?pwd=UnBleE5ITjl6dDRWdlFTTnlpVnoxZz09

SATLAS is a Python package for the analysis of hyperfine structure spectra from laser spectroscopy. The first version of the package was released in 2018 [Computer Physics Communications 222, 286-294 (2018)] and was quickly adopted by the community. SATLAS 2 (https://iks-nm.github.io/satlas2/), released in 2023, is a new version of SATLAS, built with a simpler structure and offers speedup of a factor 20-200 for fast simultaneous fitting of multiple spectra.

The presentation will be followed by a hands-on session with prepared examples, for which the participants are encouraged to bring their laptops. An assistance clinic for the use of SATLAS 2 on specific cases relevant to the participants' data sets can take place after the hands-on session, in case of interest.

The example data sets are generated with the "hands-on_data_generation.py" file. The "solutions" for these datasets are given in "fit_data.py" with comments for explanation
