Description
This tool offers large labour-saving to operators by automating the task of scheduling processes. It was built to maximise the efficiency of scheduling beams through the LHC injector chain, and by implementing a novel algorithm it guarantees maximally-efficient usage of all accelerator-uptime,

An implementation of this “Supercycle Optimiser” tool will be demonstrated, with examples of the kind of scheduling requests and constraints it can deal with, the limitations of the existing version.

The lookahead for the project and other potential applications of this tool will also be discussed, as well as a brief overview of the properties of the algorithm behind it.

The demonstration will be of interest to all who edit or co-ordinate the Supercycle, as well as those interested in algorithms and automation.
