Latest Impedance Updates of Vacuum Chamber
CST simulations of 8 x different configurations:
1. BGI Model (Stainless Steel Cathode)
- Chamber 84 mm
- Chamber 120 mm
- Chamber 84/120 mm
2. BGI Model (Ceramic Cathode – assumed as resistively coated)
- Chamber 84 mm
- Chamber 120 mm
- Chamber 84/120 mm
3. Ceramic Rod Location Comparison (update)
Conclusions:
- BGI Chamber with 120 mm and 84mm & 120 mm has similar longitudinal impedance response
- BGI model with rod (located ~9 mm above the corner) is more effective on the mitigation of the peaks below 1.3 GHz
Discussion
- For the instrument, it is going to be used a Ø 12 mm rod placed ~9 mm above the corner. Hikmet will provide Frantisek the exact location of the rod.
- The aperture and total length of the vacuum chambers for the vertical and horizontal instruments are fixed to Ø120 mm aperture and the original length. Integration studies will be performed, considering the beam line modifications agreed with survey and vacuum groups
- Next Monday 15th BI and MME will meet to discuss the manufacturing deadlines. Depending on the outcome, work will be reorganised
