Matters arising * Hardware Commissioning Training day 22nd March. MPP members will be sent an invitation to attend this day. A series of talks will be presented. See attaches for agenda. * In the Tunnel! SSS009 R7 Voltage tap (212 ?) open circuit in cold mass, about 2m in. It is in the IFS capillary it may be possible to fix. Should not power this magnet! The Voltage tap free-end, could burn into the magnet making the repair not possible locally. We still don't know exactly where it is. It was recommended that we use a alternative reflectometer system as a double check. It was difficult to tell just how far in because the temperature profile was not well known. !!! IMPORTANT !!!! We must improve the information flow between Electrical QA and MPP!!! * SSS514 Q9,Q11 - Electrical short comes and goes' - High leakage current comes and goes' * Modification of EFS box at Point 6 due to dump. Case MB 1055 (very serious problem) The magnet voltage traces show a possible electrical short. First proposal is not to power at all ! this magnet (repair or replace) One of the possible risks highlighted was that at higher current >2KA if the magnet quenched it may burn a hole through to the beam pipe! This would be contaminated over a very long distance, and if a high pressure was developed, as in the cold mass, the beam pipe bellows fail at +1Bar. Followed by a cryogenic problem that it could take a very long time to warm up, months were mentioned. See presentation for: -The risk identification -The risk analysis and evaluation -Recommendations
