    • 14:30 → 14:40
Upcoming WLCG Service Interventions (with dates / times where known) 10m

Link to CIC Portal (broadcasts/news), scheduled downtimes (GOCDB) and CERN IT Status Board

      • LCG RAC upgrade to Oracle 10.2.0.3 - performed Feb 22
      • LFC upgrade and RAC upgrade for LHCb - foreseen for today (completed - EGEE broadcast at 11:30 CET)

Time at WLCG T0 and T1 sites.

This item should move to the Joint Operations Meeting asap.

    • 14:40 → 14:50
      Scheduling of WLCG Q1 Tx-Ty Transfer Milestones - aka Multi-VO tests 10m

See also the FTS service review item below.

      1. Demonstrate Tier0-Tier1 data export at 65% of full nominal rates per site using experiment-driven transfers

Mixture of disk / tape endpoints as defined by experiment computing models, i.e. ~30% tape for ATLAS; transfers driven by experiments

Period of at least one week; daily VO-averages may vary (~normal)

      2. Demonstrate Tier0-Tier1 data export at 50% of full nominal rates (as above) in conjunction with T1-T1 / T1-T2 transfers

Inter-Tier transfer targets taken from ATLAS DDM tests / CSA06 targets

      3. Demonstrate Tier0-Tier1 data export at 35% of full nominal rates (as above) in conjunction with T1-T1 / T1-T2 transfers and Grid production at Tier1s

Each file transferred is read at least once by a Grid job

Some explicit targets for WMS at each Tier1 need to be derived from above

    • 14:50 → 15:00
      Dress Rehearsal Preparations 10m
      Current assumptions:
      • Start of Dress Rehearsals - 1st July 2007 (Q3)
        • Same date as commissioning of the WLCG service
      • Required services in place at sites by 1st April 2007 (Q2)
        • Some staging will be required as it is unlikely that everything below will be fully in place by then.
          • LFC with bulk methods - deployed at CERN, still in pipeline for outside sites; some tuning needs to be done which implies (a) new version(s) - to be rolled out in April - end June period
          • FTS 2.0
          • Distributed DB services for ATLAS & LHCb
          • Procedures / testing (SAM) for VO services
          • Monitoring / logging / reporting / dashboards
          • VOMS roles in job priorities
          • SRM 2.2 available for experiment testing in dCache & DPM
Date for CASTOR SRM 2.2 TBD
          • WN & UI for SLC4 (32bit mode)
          • Others???

      Longer term service interventions 10m

      • Is there an agreed day / time-slot? (presumably Tue-Thu are preferred...)
      • Weekly vs monthly interventions (complex interventions are by definition higher risk and at least sometimes overrun their scheduled slot... They are also significantly harder to debug when problems arise (which may well not be immediate...))
      • How much notice is required? (See attached WLCG procedure)
      • Are there service optimisations that we can do to minimise the impact?
      • Specifically, a day of the week and a week through the month long LCG run structure when we upgrade lxbatch/plus is required.
Possible slots prior to start of Dress Rehearsals and Pilot LHC run

      Foreseen interventions:

      • Move of CASTOR DBs to better h/w
      • Deployment of new CASTOR LSF plug-in
      • CASTOR disk server h/w fixes (or rolling replacement of servers...)
      • Oracle Critical Patch updates
        • 17 April 2007
        • 17 July 2007
        • ???16 October 2007???
        • 15 January 2008

      FTS service review 10m
This item should move to the Joint Operations Meeting asap.

      • FTS report index - status by site and by VO
      • Transfer goals - status by site and VO
    • 15:20 → 15:30
Summary of Experiment Activities (as input to Operations meeting) 10m

    • 15:30 → 15:50
Schedule for future LCG ECMs 20m
By moving the short-term items to the joint operations meeting, can we reduce the LCG ECM frequency?

Whilst retaining the same slot, a possible option would be to meet every other week, out-of-phase with the GDB / pre-GDB / face-to-face MB.

i.e. no meetings in 'odd' weeks (1st, 3rd (, 5th)) of a given calendar month.

Additional meetings could be scheduled if & when necessary.
