Description
This workshop is organized by the "Accelerator Physics and synchrotron Design" (APD) collaboration of the CARE-HHH European Network on "High Energy High Intensity Hadron Beams". Also a contribution to the organization of the Workshop is provided through the CERN INTAS Collaborative project on Crystal Channeling 2006-2008 and INFN. The goals of the workshop are to discuss if a new crystal collimation procedure assisted by bent crystals and suited for collimation during the ultimate high-luminosity phase of the machine and for new large colliders are possible. The use of Crystals in experiments for the study of diffractive physics will be the second goal of the Workshop.

Theory and simulations
Efficiency limitation for volume reflection of particles in a bent crystal due to the concurrent process of volume capture of particles into channelling states is discussed. The probability estimate for a fast stage of volume capture is suggested. The sequence of short bent crystals for deflection of 7-TeV protons and its optimization by increasing the bend angles of the sequence crystals is considered. Possibility to decrease a non-reflected beam fraction using a crystal with increasing curvature was shown.

Theory and measurements: comparison
For the aims of comparison with the experimental data the calculations of the characteristics of the volume reflection process are presented. The calculations are based on the analytical description of the process. The obtained results are in a good agreement with experimental data which take place now.

Simulation results for volume reflection of protons and comparison with data of experiment H8
In presentation the interaction of 400-GeV protons with silicon monocrystals of various curvature radiuses is investigated. The main parameters of volume reflection effect are determined and the algorithm of their finding on the simulation and experimental data is given taking into account the initial beam distribution.

Experiments on beam deflection by crystal
We performed experiments on electron beam deflection at 150 MeV-electron beam facility at Hiroshima University. The results qualitatively agreed with our simulation. On details, there are descripancies with the simulation and imply a necessity of future experiments at other electron beam facility with higher energy and high quality. We are planning a similar experiment at KEK-ATF.
