TAX RP studies

Points to discuss:

• Required RP studies for the TAX. These concerns both the required RP calculations as well some WDP estimations that we will need to perform to weight the possible design options in terms of ALARA cost for its implementation (and gain afterwards).

• ACTION Helmut (HSE-RP) -> Will check with Giuseppe the current RP calculations and FLUKA models on the XTAX.
• ACTION Yann (HSE-RP) -> Collect past survey data from all TCC2 & TCC8 XTAX.
• ACTION Helmut/Yann/etc (HSE-RP) -> Together with the information from RP surveys, provide support by benchmarking surveys and estimating doses at the TAX and of the blocks and tables during LS3.
• ACTION Sylvain & BE-EA  -> Start preparing high level WDP for the dismantling/maintenance/installation tasks for the different XTAX possibilities (tables replacement, keeping absorbers, all new, etc).
• ACTION Helmut (HSE-RP) -> Perform sensitivity studies for possible shielding improvements. Particularly adding marble on the sides & upstream/downstream.
• ACTION HSE-RP & BE-EA -> Review the mechanical tables upgrade options and provide possible RP improvements (material choice, etc)
• ACTION Sylvain (BE-EA) -> Provide space/integration constrains for shielding studies of Helmut.
• ACTION Sylvain/all -> Understand to what extent the old TAX blocks (todays muon shielding in TCC2) can be sent for waste and replaced by whatever TAX blocks are to be decommissioned. Eventually check if they could even be re-used (e.g. for the lower intensity beamlines after replacing the new table(unlikely, given the unknown state)).
• ACTION Miguel & BE-EA -> Continue the mechanical tables upgrade studies and down select possible options for the different TAX.
