Modified combinants of multiplicity fluctuations in nuclear and hadronic interactions

Modified combinants estimated from the multiplicity fluctuations of the particles produced in high-energy hadronic interactions are shown to have certain characteristic features. It allows us to extract additional information about the particle production mechanism in such interactions. It can be used as a phenomenological tool for model building in future Monte Carlo event generators
