https://elogepdt-rdgas.web.cern.ch/RPC/682

[x] Update the DB with the state of the chambers

https://ep-dt-rpc-db.app.cern.ch/admin/content/rpcs

[x] Update resistivity in DB

https://ep-dt-rpc-db.app.cern.ch/admin/content/resistivities

TODO

[ ] To check if they were properly conditioned and where is the data from the conditioning in the elog and in grafana

[ ] RPC 18 to test it in a frame with 2.5 cm strips

[ ] Which chamber is performing best

  • RPC 13 nice efficiency curves but higher currents and not very stable → conditioning?
  • RPC 15 high streamers, good currents, high time resolution → dark counts, electronics?
  • RPC 18 Low efficiency, rest is okay, extremely wrong time resolution → electronics?
  • RPC 23 slightly higher currents → conditioning?

[ ] Tests to be performed on switching trigger between digitizer to see if time resolution changes

[ ] Use on the GIF++ scintillators as the bottom one to see if triple coincidence count is improving

[ ] Fitting function of time distribution to understand what happens to RPC 6 and RPC 18 in the past scans

[ ] Gases available to test: which and how to use them

904

Done

  • [x] Check for installation of Vaisala for readout
  • [x] Check for installation of mass flowmeter

TODO

  • [ ] Table of experimental parameters to be prepared by Uzay and to be regularly updated in the elog
  • [ ] Finalize tests with 10%, 7% CF4 and compare the results
    • [ ] Check results together before doing any physical intervention in the setup
  • [ ] Compare first with second set of measurement with the first set for 10% of CF4
  • [ ] Try to fit the data without initial baseline point and compare total rate with single rate
  • [ ] Check with Uzay and Arystan for installation of HF and F2 cells
  • [ ] Arystan and Uzay comparison of different analysis algorithms to get the production rate and understand if it is constant over time

GIF++

Done

TODO

  • [ ] Final plots to be discussed and prepared to understand the status of the aging tests
    • [ ] Ohmic currents vs integrated charge
    • [ ] Physics currents vs integrated charge
    • [ ] Ohmic currents vs time
    • [ ] Physics currents vs time
    • [ ] Muon beam efficiencies for same gas mixture at different test beam (legend to report the integrated charge)
    • [ ] Currents vs rate for the same gas mixture and different test beams (legend to report the integrated charge)
    • [ ] Resistivity vs time
    • [ ] Currents vs voltage for the source off scans (legend to report integrated charge)
  • [ ] Prepare a weekly report of the plots on a static webpage in https://ghg-studies-eos.web.cern.ch/ghg-studies-eos/ + elog
  • [ ] Tests GC in the elog → elog missing
  • [ ] Resume daily GIF++ checklist
  • [ ] Understand if there is a difference on runs performed on wed. (morning and afternoon)
  • [ ] Test beam preparation
    • [ ] To prepare 3 chambers from the lab: 15, 18, 23
    • [ ] Test RPC 19, 21, 24 in 600 Hz trolley with STD and CO2 30% 1% SF6
    • [ ] Replace all the chambers with the ones in the lab:
      • [ ] Test STD, 30% CO2 1% SF6
      • [ ] Possibly test Novec + 30% CO2
  • [ ] Cabling campaign: in November
  • [ ] O2 cells ordered

Software

  • [ ] Organize the required work for a possible rewrite of the backend of olefin
    • [ ] Understand how to organize gitlab
  • [ ] Organize the storage of the data in a new dataframe
    • [ ] For muon signals
    • [ ] For gamma signals
  • [ ] Signal level calculations
    • [ ] Simple: simple baseline, time, charge of a peak
    • [ ] To study: advanced baseline calculation
    • [ ] After pulses count
    • [ ] Avalanche and streamer charge integration and separation
    • [ ] Try to calculate charge of each gamma signal
  • [ ] Aggregating statistics calculations

      • [ ] Required features to be added:
        • Proper baseline estimation under the presence of gamma background

          • Number of after pulses and duration between them
        • Waveform storage deeply linked with analyzed data for quick retrieval and parameter validation
        • Gamma charge calculation
        • Timing: rise time of a signal?
        • Others?
      • How to organize the work load and tasks
