Presents: B. Majorovits, C. Krieger, D. Kreikemeyer, M. Van dijk, P. Pralavorio, X. Genillon, N. Guillotin, M. Mentink, M. Lazzaroni, L. Di Giulio, A. Ivanov

1. Introduction (M. Van Dijk, P. Pralavorio)

  • Restart of beam commissioning in North Area confirmed : 25-03.2023. Tentative planning for 2024 below (following a meeting that took place early September):
  • Sylvain contacted by Maarten to confirm that water, compressed air and electrical power will be available 5 days in advance of the 5-Feb 2024.

2- Morpurgo magnet (N. Guillotin, M. Mentink)

  • Cryogeny takes 21+/-2 days after the start of the cooling. Need all facilities available 5 days before the start for the insulation vacuum.
  • Magnet responsible asks for few hours of tests before handing the magnet to the MADMAX team -- to recheck that everything is OK.

3- MADMAX Status (B. Majorovits)

  • Analysis of 2022 / 23 on going. Will submit a paper to PRL by the end of this year.
  • Buy a new Rohde-Schwarz for the DAQ to reduce the dead time wrt 2023 run.
  • Interested in having a run with the prototype cryostat during the long shutdown period in 2026. First discussion started on whether it is possible to be accommodated in the North Area consolidation planning

4- CB200 tests (A. Ivanov)

  • CB200 RF behaviour understood at a sufficient level to be confident in bringing it to CERN in 2024 for a 3 week test
  • May try to take measurement at 2 different frequencies, separated by 400 MHz

5- G10 cryostat test (D. Kreikemeyer)

  • Three tests at 10K performed in the cryolab in spring 2023 with a dummy CB100 allows to improve the G10 cryostat and be confident that the run in Morpurgo can be made
  • Behaviour of component needed for cold calibration are tested at cold in MPI. 5 runs still to be done before the end of the year.
  • Plan to go to the cryolab mid-January to test cold calibration procedure in situ
  • Beginning of march 2024 : decision to go for a cold test in Morpurgo for few days tests (end of March)

6- Prototype cryostat (Ch. Krieger)

  • Actual production of MPC to start at the end 2023 after delivery main vessels. According to current project plan: delivery in Jan/Feb 2024 in Hamburg.
  • Site Acceptance Test (SAT) in February 2024. Will allow to have final numbers for LHe and LN2.
  • Planning for a "technical" run in 2024-25 : arrival in December 2024 -> ship it back to Hamburg end of April 2025. Tough… but (at the moment) looks feasible!

7. Safety (L. Di Giulio)

  • ISIEC needs to be modified with new date for 2024 CB200 run
  • Beginning of March 2024: safety discussion for the G10 test
  • Restart discussion on the prototype cryostat
