The discussion was led by the status report from Antonio.
Few points of relevance:
- It is agreed that the procurement of the optical MUX and back-end components will be followed up by Antonio and finalised in 2025
- The DR for the assembly cannot be submitted by ESE:
- Antonio discussed this with IPT and the proposal is to make a version and Andrea/Christos clone it and submit it to SY.
- The number of components has been clarified but some doubts remain concerning QSFP vs SFP and Andrea was asked to verify with Manoel a few points; the answer is reported here:
- Form factor compatibility: SFP+ would be compatible with our specifications in terms of space even assuming the extra link needed
- Extra link form factor: we confirm we would like to have standard VTTx
- Extra link (25% extra) colour: we would like to have the extra VTTx spread between the 2 flavours
- Type 1: increased to 1875 (1900 if it is easier) from 1500
- Type 2: increased to 1875 (1900 if easier) from 1500
- Form factor preference: we would still prefer to get QSFP for the links and SFP+ for the clock, but this only if there is the possibility to improve the optical power margin.
- Concerning the number of MUXes for the BPMs:
- 1500 if we go for QSFP
- 3000 if we go for SFP+
- On the ROSA procurement
- High Tech (?) from UK has been identified as the supplier
- Jan has spoken with supplier and expects samples next week
- Prototypes and price estimates to follow.
