GridPP Technical Meeting - ARC CE7 status and migration planning

Weekly meeting slot for technical topics. We will try and focus on one topic per meeting.  We will announce at the Tuesday Ops meeting if this meeting is going ahead and if so the topic to be discussed.

ARC Plans

 

RAL:

Move to Rocky 8. Looking to containerise Argus to continue running it. 

 

ECDF:

3 CE (2 production, 1 test). 1 Production CE to ARC 6 on EL9. This CE only takes LHCb and test jobs. If it doesn’t work can revert. Will continue to use ARGUS behind the scenes (strengthen firewalls).

 

Glasgow:

4 production CE.  1 test CE running ARC 6 on EL8.  Would like to jump to ARC 7 on EL9 when it is available. 

 

Oxford:

Want to move production CE to ARC 6 on EL9.  Hoping to get rid of Argus server and point 

 

Brunel:

Finish moving WN to EL9, then try ARC 7.

 

QMUL:

Concentrate on backend Rocky9 deployment.  April 24, look at what is happening and look to deploy a supported solution. 

 

Lancaster:

Matt Doidge is looking at token support.

Test CE on Rocky 8 ARC7 in new year.

 

Manchester:

Test ARC 7 without ARGUS on EL9 on testbed in new year.

 

Imperial:

Uses HTCondor CEs. Planned to upgrade and deploy Token everywhere.
