    ROOT Team Meeting 23rd October

    1. News
    - Turn off the computers because of the power-cut tomorrow Tuesday the 24th Oct

    2. Shift handover

    3. Meetings from last week

    * I/O
       - std::bytes 
       - blobs storing challenges 
       - RNTuple format compression - converging
       - Friday - special guest - Maciej Szymanski - Physics metadata storage

    * TMVA
    * RooFit
       - remaining plans for the release
       - AD crew discussions - support with code generation backend, solving problems/figuring out the priorities in clad 
    * PPP
       - Andrii Falko gave an update on Analysis Grand Challenge with v2, 
       - inclusion of the ML pipeline (BDT) in the framework via FastForest C++ library
       - AGC via RDF is alligned with the reference implementation, 7.4M events/sec
       - Better ML support for user discussions (no conclusion reached yet)
       - PPP this week (26th October, LHCb update)

    * Planning / Godparents /... 
    * LIM
       - bug discovered by CMS - blocking 6.30 and 6.28

       - Triton package - high performance RPC package used by ATLAS - in case anyone wants to start using it
       - ROOT support for dcache request (to be seen)

       - 6.30 release - debugging Python 3.12 crash at import ROOT, not working  Python 3.12 support for ROOT, fedora 39 and ubuntu 23-10 affected, but it shouldn't stop us, Vincenzo will try a few things with cppyy (what is done differently)

    4. Special topic 
    - draft talk by Vincenzo for the ROOT Developments 2023 at CMS Common Analysis Tools meeting (meeting itself 25th Oct 2023)
       - any comments/slide ideas - please contact Vincenzo on MatterMost directly

    - update on the plan of work for next year 
       - on Nov 20 - special ROOT Team Meeting (~3h long) with a detailed discussion on the Plan of Work 
       - somebody non-responsible for the project will present plan of work for the next year - most important points to be carried - discuss with the usual responsibles 
       - email will be sent around

    5. Roundtable - Wednesday morning 9am at the usual zoom room
