This workshop is the main meeting of the Quattor community. Its main goal is discussing main issues, roadmap and community organization. It brings together Quattor developers and users and is open to everybody interested by Quattor. The two first days are really intended for internal discussions when the third day is devoted to tutorials and hands-on sessions.

Discussion about Kickstart issues.
Doing everything disk-related in the %pre script instead of making use of Anaconda has some benefits, but it also presents problems (like no support for GPT partition labels). Could it be possible to rely more on Anaconda, even if that means giving up some strict control?

Discussion about Scheduling changes, and detecting the implication of changes.
This is somewhat fuzzy, but there are changes we'd like to apply immediately, while other changes should only be applied when it's "safe" (where the definition of "safe" may be different for different hosts). E.g. we only run spma right before a reboot, because installing/removing/upgrading packages in general is just too dangerous when the system is in production. A separate, but related issue is how to detect the impact of a configuration change: does activating the new profile require a reboot, or even a full rebuild (e.g. when the partitioning layout changes)?
