CLIC_SID Software Validation Kick-off Meeting
Present
M. Thomson (Cambridge)
J. Strube, M. Stanitzki (RAL)
N. Graf (SLAC)
C. Grefe, M. Killenberg, L. Linnsen, A. Muennich, J. Nardulli (CERN)
P. Saxena (Dehli)
Meeting started with an assessment what is needed and what can be done on the current timescale Christian summarized the status of the tracking plots, they are good to go and just wait for the latest samples In terms of overlays, for tracking-only he can go up to 312 BX, otherwise the limit is 60-110 BX (calorimeter collection size otherwise explodes)
We discussed various efficiencies and definitions and Christian has also written up his definitions for selecting tracks (see slides) What needs doing is to see, how well we do on the bbar samples now For the Vertexing the impact parameter plots are part of Christian’s plots. Tomas is working on LCFI right now Jacopo reported, that the ParticleID plots are good to go, given the latest samples are available. He’ll look into adding also plots telling you about mistags (making a photon in a K0L, e.g.) There has been some discussion on using timing information. Mark clarified, that in 99% of cases Pandora does not use the timing information.
MarlinPandora however does cut on timing. We can add this information.

There was some discussion on the differences between Astrid’s and Normans results (see actions) Jan pointed out, that there are events where the track-cluster matching goes wrong, this will need addressing.

Jacopo presented the Status of the CLICPfoSelector, it runs almost with SiD events, may need some small changes Christian has already prepared a driver to do this Martin presented some thoughts on V0 efficiency, it was agreed, that this is a nice-to-have plot, but not the highest priority. Also he discussed the problems with very high momentum tracks, it was agreed, that getting these wrong is physics (B field not strong enough) On a final note, we should have notes summarizing all this, which makes the life easier for the editors
Items decided
Jet plots will use cos(theta)
Track efficiency in theta Only
SLIC version to use for studies is SLIC 2.9.8+

What still needs addressing
Adding timing to the StateAtECAL collection
Study of Track-cluster mismatching in SLICPandora
Commission of CLICPfoSelector Vertexing evaluation

Next Meeting Tuesday after easter tentatively 3 pm UK/ 4pm CERN/ 7 am
SLAC Actions

b) Astrid to rerun her studies with the latest software and samples
c) Jacopo to make ParticleID tools available (already happened)
d) Jacopo and Astrid to test CLICPfoSelector
e) Christian and Norman to discuss Driver for adding information for CLICPfoSelector (see slides)
f) Everybody: summarize status of notes
