Hiring

deadline for DOCT is March 11

• two open positions in 2024, SFT will take care of them

EP quest openings go to Giovanna and go to HR

• combine project descriptions
• NOT across different Tasks
• combine across Task 1.7 ?

write QUEST descriptions for scheduling (Atlas) and data structures (Alice) projects

• see if they can be combined in a single job description
• send them to Giovanna, with Axel in cc

WP1 introduction workshop

• present different tasks and plans to the project
• to be organised on the next week(s)
• Axel will write slides and circulate them
• other task leaders will cover their tasks

Task 1.1 asks for specification for the GPU farm

Prepare specification inputs

• CMS will circulate the draft requests for WP3
• multi-GPU
• multi-CPU (?)
• different vendors, different models
• physical access (benchmark different hardware configurations, BIOS settings, software versions)
• vendors: NVIDIA, AMD, Intel

Outreach

NGT workshop in November

• reuse the results from CHEP’24
• reuse the results for the yearly reports

restart EP software seminars ?

• use Task 4.1 people to do it !
• this year, present current state of Task 1.7 topics ? how things are before we start the NGT projects
• possible topics
  • Julia in HEP: check with Philippe Gras, etc.
  • SYCL: check with Monica, Aurora, etc.
  • scheduling: ALICE, CMS, anybody else ?
  • data structures: user-friendly version of the C++ / SoA talks
• next years, present the results of the NGT projects
