      MEDICIS & Building 179 10m
      Speakers: Charlotte Duchemin (CERN SY/STI/RBS), Laura Lambert (CERN), Ralf Erik Rossel (CERN)

      Last week the MEDICIS team performed some stable Tb tests. The test have been stopped to allow for Cyril to work on the Raman laser for next week's Ra-225 collection.

      This week, the #847M is irradiated for next week Ra collection in between the TISD run. One sample will go to NPL in the UK and the other one (max 1 MBq) will go to IRA, CHUV.

      Agreed plan for TISD/MEDICIS today (28/05):
      - Stop protons for TISD when ready to stop @Edgar Miguel Sobral Dos Reis @Valentina Berlin ;

      - add vistar screen shot on the elog;
      - Send WhatsApp to Charlotte :) ;

      - Reset proton counter on MEDICIS console in the ISO OP Room (between Emiliano and Lefteris desks) - see below;
      - Switch the beam position to NORMHRS H: -10 V: -63, and ask the max intensity (2 uA) to the PSB for the night - don’t pronounce the MEDICIS name to the PSB to avoid confusion;

      - add screenshot to the elogbook when first protons are coming;

      In the morning (29/05):
      - TISD takes beam when ready and until EN-CV intervention at 09/09:30 am;
      - As soon as EN-CV intervention finished --> MEDICIS takes the beam until the morning after (H-10, V-63, 2 uA) @Erwin Siesling

      In the morning (30/05):

      Targets, Schedule and Physics 10m
      Speakers: Hanne Heylen (CERN), Mia Au, Sebastian Rothe (CERN)

      Physics

      On GPS, the IDS run aimed to measure beta-delayed neutrons of 132,134In isotopes using a new set of neutron detectors. The new detectors worked well and the experiment ran very smoothly so near the end, they took a few shifts of 135In as preparation for a run next year. On HRS, a new target material was tested (nano-ZrO) for beam production tests of Zn and Se, first results look promising.

      Schedule

      • HIE-ISOLDE stable beam requests are being collected
      • I will start on the next part of the schedule in the coming weeks
