RILIS operation from last week : Sn for ISS:

      • setup done by Tuesday and first optimization on Tuesday afternoon.
      •  yield check with target team and optimization until Friday
      • multiple calls over the weekend to try and understand the low yields and the drop in the yield. 2 interventions on site:

1/ Saturday afternoon. Intervention showed that every was nominal from our side.
2/ Sunday morning because of a computer crash in RILIS which stopped the stabilization and the camera update.

      • Yield check again on Monday morning showed similar yield as Friday, without any change in the RILIS setup.

RILIS operation this week : no RILIS operation

      • Cd setup will start today.

      OTHER :

      Chiller was repaired last week.
Laser for dye pumping switched today.

      • MEDICIS
      • LAST WEEK was dedicated to a Tb beam time with the presence of S.Collins (NPL) on-site. #804M (new target) has been irradiated (DIRECT 4.04E17 0.8 uA). No water leak this time however vacuum issues led to not collecting any Tb as the temperature could not be pushed very high (max 1500 degrees). To confirm again that the issue ot coming from the FE side, #828M irradiated and used last year has been tested on the FE. Vacuum perfectly fine over the week-end at 2000 degrees.

      • THIS WEEK another target #769M used and irradiated last year was placed on the FE (yesterday) showing also no heating problems with a vacuum also perfectly fine. Therefore a vacuum issue linked to the FE can be discarded. #872M is being irradiated now (direct, limit of 0.5 uA). It will be used from tomorrow morning to collect K-43. There is no shipping planned as for now we will only check what are our capabilities in terms of K-43 production (linked to a PRISMAP R&D project to irradiate some crystals/diamonds). If enough activity it will be used as a reference source for the Kromek.

      • NEXT WEEK on monday 09 am, we will be loading ThC into #848M with Bernard and the target will go on the FE in the morning. It will go for irradiation to take indirect beam on HRS (date and time to send the target still TBC with Hanne) and used for a double Ra-224/225 collection.

      Targets, Schedule and Physics 10m
Speakers: Hanne Heylen (CERN), Mia Au, Sebastian Rothe (CERN)

      Physics

First HIE-ISOLDE experiment: 108Sn beams for ISS to be used to study evolution of single-particle states towards 100Sn via (d,p) transfer reactions. Due to the limited time where 108Sn beam was available, they didn't collect the required statistics. They would like to come back next year to finish this run and also go to 106Sn.

      Schedule

      • Next part is almost ready, trying to make it less tight.
    • 14:50 15:00
      Safety 10m
