RPC Lab 256

  • All the gas from China arrived (Mattia)

Analyses

  • Modifications done on the CMS GC Tracker
  • ISE measurements in ALICE: agreement on organization. Two times a week, with help from MID people when the system is working fine
  • ALICE and CMS calibration bottles ordered for RPCs (4.5% isobutane only one available)
  • [ ] Check alternatives to Emerson for IR ⇒ Stef, MCA
  • [ ] Discuss with Ivan about presenting to the CMS mechanics conference
  • [ ] LHCB RICH1 check the results about the tests of how much Air was present during the purifier emptying
  • [ ] Software related: publish data from ALICE MID GC
  • [ ] ISE measurements in ALICE: start couple of weeks before the run for having a reference
  • [ ] Follow up with Florian for UV-VIS analyses

Recuperation systems

  • Review of the SF6 recuperation
    • [ ] Check at which temperatures one should operatee the R-134a recuperation system if we recover the 87 ln/h of
    • [ ] How much energy is required to recuperate a certain amount of SF6
  • (Related also to Analyses) CSC CF4 recovery still off because there is ~3% of Air (MCA)
    • [ ] Check if between 2022→2023 the Air amount was as current YETS
    • [ ] Check if 3% of Air is only N2 or also O2. The purifier should remove O2
    • [ ] Once analysis is done to publish on analyses websites
  • [ ] Restart the R-134a one on Monday ⇒ ALL
  • [ ] HF test with recuperated R-134a to be done
  • [ ] Test absorber 13X for SF6/N2 separation (MCA)

Other

  • GCMS: problems in connecting from PC. Ip address changed
  • [ ] Mixer from ETH ⇒ sending a volume filled instead
  • [x] Review the status of the humidifiers (linked) with GIF task above)
  • [x] Check humidifier rust in other humidifiers at GIF and in MID ⇒ ASAP
    • [ ] Check CPV water and eventually go with the endoscope
    • [ ] For the moment, stop using Festo
  • [ ] Ask LPh for help to clean up 256 and organize the space
