      RD50-MPW4 - Preliminary IVs 15m
      • New idea: measure the I-V of RD50-MPW3 chip in 3 kohm.cm with compliance of 10 mA (like we have done for RD50-MPW4). Do we see similar lower and high HV breakdowns?
      • New idea: does the I-V in the 200 to 600 V range have a linear (resistive) behaviour? Check with measured data. If yes, this might mean that the depletion region of RD50-MPW4 touches the edge (not the back) of chip at 200 V, and hence the sudden current increase. If this is true, the sudden current increase should disappear after irradiation, even to low fluence (there will be ohter problems there though). If the sudden current increase is due to the depletion region touching the back, things might get better with the backside biased samples. Any case, we don't need to go beyond 200 V to bias the chip before irradiation; we might have to do that after irradiation, but that should be ok.

      • We might want to explore alternative chip rings, in simulations, with smaller n-type rings (plan discussion). Trade-off between high breakdown voltage and small leakage current?
