13/02/2024: Follow-up meeting

Agenda:

-          Gloria to present an update on the status for the 14 T design.

-          Nicolas Peray to give a short update on the status of the winding test tooling.

GLORIA’S UPDATE:

§  We keep digging 40 mm and 50 mm aperture for the moment. There is no official decision yet. Priority is to work now on the 50 mm aperture.

§  For the different options, the outer structure stays the same, what changes (from 40 mm to 50 mm aperture) is the coilpack size (compensated through the pads).

§  We need to study what happens if we consider that poles do not touch at the mid-plane.

NICO’S UPDATE:

§  Drawings for the tooling presented. Some questions arose on whether the distance from our region of interest and the clamping zone is too short. We think it is better to elongate the tooling by 100 mm (order of magnitude of one twist pitch length).

 

ACTION ITEMS:

§  - Ariel will join to work on 50 mm aperture magnetic design.

§  - Gloria and Ariel to finish the 50 mm aperture e.m design. Then Gloria to work on the mechanical analysis

§  - We need to study what happens if we consider that poles do not touch at the mid-plane.

§  - Gloria: Clarify slide 18

§  - Nico: Elongate the tooling by 100 mm. Add some holes to be able to install the setup in the winding machine.
