Description

Several open questions in particle physics could be addressed through the observation of extremely weakly coupled signals. In this talk, we will explore how tabletop(-ish) experiments operating at or near the so-called "quantum limit" can search for such signals. We will focus on atypical resonant cavity experiments, which have great potential for axion dark matter and gravitational wave searches. Resonant cavities are a technology at the forefront of a new "age of quantum" and are a component of various initiatives underway at CERN.
