PhD School on QCD in extreme conditions

The 2024 XQCD PhD school is an accompanying event to the 20th International Conference on QCD in Extreme Conditions (XQCD 2024).

The school will take place from July. 14th to July. 16 at the Institute of Modern Physics (Lanzhou), Chinese Academy of Sciences, P.R. China.

The school will feature block lectures 6 x 45 minutes covering several research themes centered on topics covered in the XQCD conference, providing an in-depth review of these fields for PhD students.

The lectures will be given by internationally recognized theoretical physicists:

  • Michal P. Heller (Ghent University): Non-equilibrium phase of QCD
  • Frithjof Karsch (University of Bielefeld): Lattice QCD at finite temperature and density
  • Koutarou Kyutoku (Chiba U.): Neutron stars & multi-messenger physics
  • Jan Pawlowski (Heidelberg U.): Functional QCD and the QCD phase diagram.
  • Vladimir Skovkov (NCSU): The analytic structure of QCD phase diagram
