discuss with you about the manufacturing:

 

-What are the documents sent to the manufacturers

-What are our requirements? / Tender (to know requirements)

-KM3NET procedure (for PMT base assembly + HASS/ESS and for PMT + Base soldering)

-Manufacturer procedures

-Certificates of Conformance - ESS reports, and test reports from the manufacturer

-How much have been produced?

-What is the manufacturing status ==> manufacturing batches in progress, next batches... and quantities

-How components obsolescence are managed? Do the manufacturer has that raised risk of obsolescence in the Bill Of material?

-Do you have a contact with the designer team (Nikhef) about design changes when necessary?

-I will also be interested to have a PMT base PMT (nude) + one with components soldered in order to perform a micro-section analysis of the PCB : indeed, if the quality is not conform to IPC class 2 (would prefer class 3), we have a risk to introduce a catalectic failure or a degradation (noise, loss of performance...). We have also detected several fragility on the flex cable of the PMT base (flex broken during integration). We need to better understand this fragility.
