Description

We study the theoretical underpinnings of b → c(u)lνl transitions in light of recent measurements of anomalies in heavy meson decays at LHCb and numerous other collider experiments hinting at a potential violation of lepton flavour universality (LFU). We undertake an investigation of various angular observables involving the R-Ratios, the longitudinal polarization (PL), the τ - polarization (Pτ ), and forward-backward asymmetry (AFB) which are highly sensitive to the New Physics (NP) for the decay channel: Bc → ηc(J/ψ),D(D∗), lνl in a model dependent framework. We also study the q2 dependence of pseudoscalar and vector meson form factors for the above transitions in ground and radially excited states. In situations where flavor anomalies intermittently appear and disappear, it becomes intriguing to explore various measurement tools to be able to probe a small region of theory space.
