Present: Fassii, Sanae, Janna, Mounia & Kétévi

Apologies: Kenneth

  1. Mounia presented an overview of the program agenda, planned activities, dates, and locations.

  2. Particle Physics, Janna gave an update on the French translation. The slides are still under construction. If assistance is needed with the French translation, we will seek help from the LOC.

  3. Sanae will contact Christine to receive feedback on the other materials ordered by her (6 x Gauss Cannon). So far, we have received only one Electromagnetic Accelerator to BNL, which will be shipped to Morocco along with detectors and electronic materials. We have already placed orders for 2 other accelerators and 6 Gauss Cannons. When the remaining materials are delivered, we may organize a second shipment.

  4. Instrumentation & Detectors, Mounia provided an update on the detectors and instrumentation program, to be carried out by Mounia and Kétévi. Shipment of equipment to Morocco is being prepared and may be sent today or tomorrow with the highest priority shipping.

  5. Prof. Chabab was unable to connect, but he provided an update via email

    • he has been in contact with the academy team and informed them that we will need 4 classrooms in Marrakech High school, and 3 in the other venues. In principle, they can assure them with student's desks.

    • They can also provide a PC in Marrakech, but they need to check if PCs are available in the other high schools.

    • For shipment of materials via DHL, the dean's letter has been signed, and will be deposited at the customs office. Once approved, he will send you a copy. Also, for a temporary admission of materials, and exemption from payment of customs fees, an approved freight forwarder must carry out the procedure. He found one who agreed to take care of it. he will send you an estimate of his fees and cost

  6. The last meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2nd, at 14:30 CET.

    • We encourage you to connect to this meeting in order to address any concerns or requests that may need to be taken care of.

      1) Marrakesh: 2 x 50 rooms, 1 x 90 room and amphitheater — max of 300 students
      2) Other venues: max of 200 students. But how many rooms? (to find out)

      • A planetarium session is planned on April 15 and 16 (probably). They will accommodate groups of 25 learners in the planetary for 20 min at a time. They will need a big hall to mount the planetarium of about 6m2 in surface (mounting would be fast, of the order of 5 min). They will also need transportation of equiment and personnel.
      • A meteorite workshop. This will be in parallel to the planetary show on April 15. More details are forthcoming.
      • A 45-50 min talk about astrophysics in Morocco. This will be done at one of the other venues (not Marrakesh). Details will be given later.
