HI ECN3 - BDF and SHiP - Dismantling activities interface
Follow up from the meeting with Letizia and Olga, to discuss the eventual interface when it comes to dismantling activities between BDF and our colleagues from EP.
Presents: Matthew Fraser, Francois Butin, Olga Beltramello , Letizia Di Giulio , Claudia Ahdida , Jean-Louis Grenard, Melania Averna
1. BDF dismantling activities will be managed by :
- WP4 – Target Complex (JL Grenard)
- WP5 – Exp. Area, Interface & Integration ( F. Butin)
2. NA62 dismantling
Francois B. will also ensure the coordination and interface with EP of the NA62 dismantling activities.
The NA62 collaboration is currently organising their 2024 run. In a couple of weeks, Francois B. will get in touch with Hans to launch the dismantling preparation activities.
EP Safety office will support the collaboration but will not act as their PSO.
Physical dismantling will be ensured by EP.
Timeline - dismantling in LS3
2.2 Organisational (Safety File or Modus operandi or procedure): detailed and step by step operational procedures to be provided to support safety during dismantling campaign
Existing hazard inventory already includes Krypton, cryogenics etc
Additional points to be addressed:
- Updated hazard inventory (to add up on the existing NA62 safety file)
- Cable identification during YETS 24/25 (EP owned cables)
- Storage: is everything going to be scrapped? If not, how is storage secured? Who pays for it?
- Two existing magnets – owned by EP as part of the experimental installation.
3. Matthew will talk to Manfred to check if:
- EP facility dismantling can be managed as a project with PL, PSO and Work Site Supervisor nominated by EP
- Responsibles from EP side have already been identified - it would be beneficial if that was a HSE, PESS supported project
