Booster ring: parameter table and lower vertical emittance
      Speaker: Antoine Chance (CEA)

10:34:47 From Yann Dutheil to Everyone:
Great idea to overshoot the energy instead of waiting on the flat-top
10:44:37 From Yann Dutheil to Everyone:
I agree, we are keeping that option for the specs of extraction systems
10:52:47 From Yann Dutheil to Everyone:
I think we have that opportunity to inject any bunch/train structure in the collider as far as both booster and collider RF can cope. I'm not sure RF confirmed this yet. Someone from ring-RF could confirm ?

Transfer line from Injector to BR: energy spread and vacuum chamber aperture
Speakers: Wolfgang Bartmann (CERN), Yann Dutheil (CERN)
      • Transfer line from the HE linac to the Booster is in the order of 10 km.
        • Bends in H & V planes, with >90 degrees of bending in horizontal.
        • Reasonable quadrupole strength imposes a FODO cell length of a few 10s of meters and dispersion 2-3 m.
        • Present designs use ~1000 dipoles and ~400 quadrupoles.
      • Dispersion in the line is also used for R56 control.
      • Geometrical emittance is small -> minor contribution to the required transfer line aperture.
      • Strong constraint on energy spread to limit the required aperture around 40mm.
        • Request to limit relative energy spread provided by the HE linac dp/p <= 2.5E-3
