Current work status

Task 1 (by Mieke and Paco)

Data management 

my current goal is to commission Rucio for the standard data processing in Q3-Q4 this year.
- design and setup: AAI is still pending due to the MoU with CNAF, this required if we want to do our own Id management, instead of leaving it to cnaf.
design: we are now tackling this in small steps, the first one being the calibration file document (on file names and associated meta data).
This will be followed by similar small steps, like a meta data doc for raw data, calibration files for the future data model (if we decide to adopt it), meta data for processed files.
I guess we can do ~1 month, if we keep going at this speed.
- setup automatic replication: plan was to discuss at the workshop but we didn't
- integration with workflows: Victor and Paco started working on this
- commissioning: planned for Q3-Q4
- documentation: some is in git, as mentioned above some is being prepared, a user manual is however not available
- user interface: I haven't dared to touch this topic yet
- delivery of data management system: I also left this row untouched 

For workflow management system, Francisco is making progress. Most of the latest activity concern integration with data management system (Rucio). Valentin is helping with this.  The design and implementation of distributed workflow took more effort and time than expected so there is a bit of delay, even though this task is still progressing. Some progress has also been made for monitoring and all other task are more or less on time.

Task 2 (by Jutta)

• Task 4.2.1 is on delay, even though there is still some time. Jutta is working on that.
• Task 4.2.2, in collaboration with the Open Science Committee, good progress is being made, especially for setting up quality criteria and monitoring for open products.
• Task 4.2.3, “Enhance interfaces”, we are currently for the open data centre. Progress should be made soon. Tamas and Leonidas are also working on this. Documentation also has to be consolidated.
• Task 4.2.4, “Provide data and software”, the status is ok.  Data archive are being moved to public domains (including ANTARES data).

Task 3 (by Vincent)

Work is progressing well.

• For the GCN broker and receiving external alerts, this is more or less done. A new telescope has to be included into the broker, which will be done soon.
• For dissemination of KM3NeT alerts, work to define the content of the alert has started. IceCube is currently reviewing the format of their alerts for Summer. The objective is to have an idea of the content before then.
• Regarding improving online reconstruction, Juan (IFIC) is currently working on cross check of event reconstruction. Positive updates should be coming in the next few months.
• Suggestion to also think about an archiving solution.
  

 

Additional action points

• Sustainability: no new information from Leonidas. To be followed.
•  Comp/Soft activities: on the agenda, including IRODs use
•  User support and computing duties: still to be clarified, but maybe some aspects will change with the new Management Team
• Investigate InvenioRDM for implementation of ODC, prohibit impact of OS services on collaboration efforts: more or less done
• ESCAPE and REANNA: no activity for the moment
•  AAI: Progress as mentioned by Mieke, with hopefully good conclusion

Next meetings and Collaboration meeting

INFRADEV2 report at Texel Collaboration meeting: Victoria will give a general presentation of INFRADEV2 progress, with a short status for WP4. The slides will be sent to Jutta & Kay for review.

Coordination meeting during Summer: the meeting will take place beginning of July (2^nd of July), and the one in August will be held only if there is need for it.
