DELPHI data preservation board meeting
Present: Chiara, Dietrich, Ulrich (chair)
Ulrich started with some news about latest developments. There has been significant progress in porting CERNLIB to Darwin (Apple), and work is in progress for the DELPHI stack. There are still issues seen for 92e processing in shortdst.exe which crashes for unknown reasons. The rest of the stack compiles and runs, however, it will need careful vaildation.
The meeting was dedicated to technical tasks related to publishing DELPHI data via https://opendata.cern.ch. The aim is to get more visibility. An excellent opportunity will be the 14th of July, when there will be a bunch of articles published on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of first beams in LEP. We agreed that it would be nice to have our data visible via the portal by then, even if not in the final version. This is not a strict requirement though. There was agreement that technically this should be indeed possible.
Tasks and actions will be tracked via JIRA tickets, a dedicated epic has been created already: DELPHI-389
After initial consultations with the OpenData team, some tasks have been created already in advance. These tickets were reviewed during the meeting and reassigned or closed if already done.
On the documentation part Ulrich mentioned that some internal notes could no longer be found. Chiara will check with Ugo if he has copies of them in his private archives.
It was agreed to aim for a checkpoint meeting in about 2 weeks to see the progress.
