Description

I will aim to initiate and lead a discussion of several recent developments (none of them my own) in the search for a critical point in the QCD phase diagram. Recent developments include new data from STAR from the RHIC Beam Energy Scan and new lattice-based theoretical calculations.  I mentioned these developments very briefly in my Theory Colloquium earlier this month. To begin a discussion of the current status and possible next steps, I will show and discuss slides from the relevant talks at the recent Critical Point and Onset of Deconfinement conference.  Andreas Juettner, Urs Wiedemann and I intend this as a joint discussion of the lattice and heavy ion groups here, but anyone interested in the search for a critical point in the QCD phase diagram is most welcome!
