88th Impedance Working Group meeting (ALICE IRIS, collimator RF fingers)

→ Europe/Zurich
Zoom

Zoom

Benoit Salvant (CERN), Christine Vollinger (CERN)

ACTION (for Benoit, Elena and Leonardo): provide a 3D map of thermal loads to ALICE.

ACTION (for Nicolas): provide feedback from the Collimator WG/WP2/WP4/WP5 meeting.

Email sent in view of WP2/4/5 meeting on July 4:

-            From impedance point of view, recommendation to put screen on fingers wherever possible

o   Keep current screen design on all TCSPMs

o   Apply current screen design on X series wherever possible (center fingers)

o   New screen designs seem less robust with respect to contact (this is also the opinion of sparking experts). If there are no alternatives for the outer fingers, the most reasonable is probably to keep them unscreened even though this is unwanted from impedance point of view.”
