The Weinberg Conference of 2024 inaugurates the Weinberg Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Texas, Austin, founded in honor of the late Dr. Steven Weinberg.

Weinberg stood among the towering minds of theoretical physics in the 20th century. Through his seminal contributions to the Standard Model of particle physics and prolific writing, he transformed humanity’s understanding of the origin and nature of the Universe. The focus of the conference aligns with the three centers of the Institute, namely on the subjects of cosmology, particle physics, and relativity, three areas in which Weinberg made contributions of great importance.
