Women: Join RightsTech Women and partners for an empowering introduction to Python for Business and Data Analytics, designed specifically for women looking to enhance their professional skills.

This beginner-friendly event will provide a welcoming environment where you can learn the basics of Python programming and discover how data analytics can transform business decision-making. No prior experience is needed, making it perfect for those new to coding and analytics.

Logistics

The event will take place in person, at CERN IDEASQUARE.

No prior programming experience is required.

Please bring your own laptop. If you do not have your own laptop, please let us know in the registration form and we will provide you with one to use during the session.

  • Morning session in ENGLISH, 8:00-12:00

What will participants learn?

Part 1: Getting More Women in STEM Careers

  • Mrs.Ellen Walker, founder of the nonprofit, RightsTech Women, will share about the need to get more women working in data science.
  • Dr Anastasia Tezari, CERN Women in Technology will share her career perspectives and useful soft skills in the context of working at CERN. Morning Session only.
    Anastasia is a physicist with a PhD in Medical Physics, and a passionate science communicator, trying to make science accessible and engaging for everyone. She works at CERN as a Science Educator in the CERN Science Gateway Labs, where she is responsible for facilitating and developing lab workshops for students and the public. She also provides trainings to CERN members of personnel, preparing them to become skilled lab workshops facilitators.

Part 2: Technical training

Technical coaches from CERN Micro Club and CERN Women in Technology will introduce participants to the basics of Data Science using the Python programming language, with a focus on business skills.
