Discussion:

  • Brief introduction of the situation and BGI project to Nuno (EN-EL)
  • Nuno: We don't have AC power contribution in the BGI PLAN IDs, Gunn will add it into the BGI PLAN ID
  • Gilles: The POLARIS converters (x4) shall be connected to a 400 V Electrical Rectifier Departure (ERD) with cable configuration of three phases + protective earth (3P + PE), the Neutral is not required. The AC plugs ratings should be 100Arms: this will need confirmation when magnet design is finalized (TE/MSC). Therefore, no request has been made so far to EN/EL
  • Gilles: There is possibility of 3rd PC after LS3 (if money available) as a spare. So we would like to request 3 AC sockets on each side of point 4.
  • Nuno: at the moment there is no dedicated EN-EL person incharge of AC powering in point4 but he will check with his team to see how to proceed.
  • Nuno: For installation in EYETS24-25 it looks unlikely due to short notice. To be checked with EN-EL team.
  • Gilles: The PC are part of north area project, and are expected to receive in March 2027, so there is no need to rush for installing it in EYETS.
  • The discussion to be followed up once the magnet design is finalised and that the location of the power converters have been fixed.
